Primary Job Purpose: Oversees the bank’s appraisal process which includes doing internal real estate appraisals and coordinating any external appraisals needed by the bank. This position also assists in overseeing the bank’s credit review process by preparing credit analysis reports for loan risk rating and validation.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee the bank’s appraisal process.
- Prepare in-house appraisal reports for residential, agriculture and commercial loans.
- Order and review external appraisal reports.
- Send external appraisal report invoices to accounts payable and monitor fee collection.
- Validate loan officer credit rating by preparing credit analysis reports that comment on the customer’s operating, balance sheet, management, collateral, and documentation.
- Upon request, help loan officers by spreading and/or analyzing financial statements.
- Attend and participate in loan committee meetings, serve as backup for sending out weekly loan committee reports and backup for taking loan committee minutes.
- Monitor the monthly Board Real Estate Loan to Value exception report.
- Ongoing monitoring of the setup and use of the Lending Cloud automatic rating system for accurate, efficient, and informative results.
- Prepare an annual report to the Board of Directors covering the credit review program.
- Help prepare the Quarterly Problem Loan Workout report.
- Serve as a backup for preparing monthly loan reports for the board meetings.
- Participate in the business development efforts of the bank.
- Establish and achieve individual and departmental goals as they relate to the bank’s Strategic Plan and specific job functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: A four-year college degree in finance related field is preferred. Basic accounting and ability to read financial statements is preferred. Real estate or appraisal classes are preferred but information could be learned or classes taken after starting the job.
Experience: A minimum of 1-year banking experience working in a credit-related environment with some formal credit related training is preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft products and standard office equipment. Proficiency with Fiserv software and Moody’s Lending Cloud software is necessary but may be learned on the job.
